Tokyo and Albirex Niigata will battle for three points in a J1 League matchday 23 fixture on Saturday. The home side are coming off a 2-1 extra-time defeat at home to JEF United Chiba in the Emperor's Cup.
They took the lead through Kuryu Matsuki in the 49th minute while Masamichi Hayashi drew the game level in the 79th minute to prompt extra time. Hiroto Goya scored the match-winner to help the J2 League outfit progress.
Peter Cklamovski's side will turn their focus back to the league where their last game saw them suffer a 3-2 defeat away to Kashiwa Reysol.
Niigata, meanwhile, suffered a shock 6-1 defeat at home to V-Varan Nagasaki in the Emperor's Cup. They were three goals down by the 33rd minute courtesy of a brace from Takashi Sawada, with his goals coming either side of Juanma Delgado's strike. The hosts' job was further compounded when they were reduced to 10 men in the 39th minute following Danilo Gomes' red card. Takumi Nagura and Masaru Kato scored after the break while Delgad completed his brace. Albi's last league game saw them suffer a 4-3 defeat at home to Sagan Tosu.
The loss left them in 14th spot in the table, having garnered 25 points from 22 games. Tokyo are eighth on 33 points.

Albirex, meanwhile, were on an eight-game unbeaten run across competitions (four wins) but have suffered debilitating defeats in their last two games. The most recent of those was in a 6-1 thrashing in front of their fans to a second division side in the cup.
