Arsenal old guard, Tomas Rosicky, is set to stay at the Emirates for another year, after manager Arsene Wenger was adamant to tie him down to a new deal, following a world class display in the 4-1 rout against Sunderland on Saturday.
The Czech Republic midfielder was due become a free agent in the summer, following the culmination of his current contract. However, the Gunners have acted swiftly, and confirmed the extension.
Club boss Wenger said, “Tomas Rosicky will stay. We have an agreement with him and it will come out soon. I am absolutely adamant he has to stay at the club.”
Despite his age of 33, the playmaker is going strong, and his importance to the North London outfit cannot be underestimated.
Rosicky has played 17 games this season, starting in most of the high profile games, highlighting Wenger’s trust in veteran. The former Borussia Dortmund man has scored one goal and provided one assist so far this season.
