#5 Dele Alli (20) – Tottenham Hotspur
From being the jewel of the MK Dons team that so exhilaratingly steamrollered Manchester United, to being the jewel of the England football team within a year, Dele Alli has surely had a heady beginning to top flight football.
The driving force behind Spurs’ title tilt last season, Alli was voted the “PFA Young Player of the Year” for his performances. Showing a pleasing ability to break late into the box and score consistently, the youngster is fast becoming England’s only hope of closing the Frank Lampard-shaped hole in midfield.
His incredible goal against Crystal Palace last season crystallized everything good about Alli’s game – confidence, agility, instinct and the technique to back it all up. Ironing out the rather unnecessary hotheadedness in his game – reminiscent of a young Wayne Rooney, is the next step in Mauricio Pochettino’s notebook to take Alli to the next level.
Surely, an outside shot for the Golden Boy award.
