The record 13-time champions have won the competition seven times in the Champions League era. Madrid have never endured group-stage elimination in the competition's current format.
The Merengues are the only team to do a three-peat in the UEFA Champions League era, winning three in a row between 2016 and 2018. After consecutive Round-of-16 exits, Madrid reached the Champions League semi-finals last season. But they were eliminated by eventual winners Chelsea.
This season, Carlo Ancelotti's men launched their campaign with a 1-0 win at Inter Milan. But Madrid were stunned by competition debutants Sheriff on Matchday 2.
#5 Barcelona - 103 points
Barcelona are one of the most consistent teams in the UEFA Champions League, especially since the turn of the century. The Blaugrana have failed to qualify for the competition only twice in the last decade.
The four-time champions have been the epitome of consistency in the competition. Their Round-of-16 defeat to PSG last season marked their earliest exit in the Champions League since 2006-07.
Barcelona have commenced their latest Champions League campaign on the wrong note. The Blaugrana were humbled 0-3 at home by Bayern Munich.
#4 Chelsea - 104 points
Chelsea haven't been the most consistent of teams in the Champions League, especially in the last few years.
However, the Blues are high up on this list, as they won the competition for only the second time last season. Chelsea have failed to qualify for the Champions League twice in the last five years. They made the Round of 16 in their three other appearances during this period.
The holders have started their 2021-22 Champions League campaign on a winning note, beating Zenit St. Petersburg at home.
