These are the Top 10 players of the EPL 2012-13 season till now.

10. Edin Dzeko – Manchester City

Edin Dzeko has been top class for defending champions Manchester City. He has been consistent for them ever since he was signed in January 2011, and has been rewarded in recent games with a permanent striker’s slot for Manchester City, at the expense of Carlos Tevez.

Edin Dzeko has won Bosnian Player of the Year 3 times in 2009, 2010 and 2011/12. The club admires him very much and hopes that he can bring the club’s glorius days back.

9. Jussi Jaaskelainen – West Ham United

The 37 year-old former Finland goalkeeper has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. Having moved to the Hammers from Bolton Wanderers, he has put on some brilliant displays and his agility and shot-stopping put him in ninth place for me.

A Goalkeeper’s role is like a captain’s role. He needs to maintain unity among the players, especially in defence and also have to bring the defenders to order during different situations in the game, like freekicks, corners, etc.

Appearances – 26

Clean Sheets – 7

Saves – 119

Saves per Match – 4.58

8. Santiago Cazorla – Arsenal

The Spaniard has been one of the best playmakers for Arsenal in quite some time now. He came to Arsenal in a 12 million pound move from Malaga and has partially helped in filling the void left by Robin van Persie. His partnerships with Walcott and Wilshere have been crucial for the Gunners this season.

He seems to be coping up with the Premier League football in his first season itself. He can play in the wing and in the centre also. His statistics are enough good enough to rate him as a complete midfielder.

Appearances – 26

Assists – 8

Shots – 79

Goals per Match – 0.35

7. Marouane Fellaini – Everton

The 2012-13 season has been this towering Belgian’s best season ever. He started his campaign by scoring the lone goal against Manchester United in the first game of the season and has been phenomenal ever since. He is one of Everton’s finest players of the decade.

The big man has defensive skills as well as attacking skills, which are rare to be found. The big teams such as Chelsea are having an eye on this man. He lacks the stamina but his passing skills change the body of the match.

Appearances – 21

Goals – 10

Assists – 5

Shots – 60

Goals per Match – 0.48

6. Theo Walcott – Arsenal

Walcott recently signed a four and a half year contract with Arsenal, after a lot of speculation. His importance to the Gunners is quite evident with his recent performances, having finally made a transition to his desired role as a striker.

Walcott was the youngest player to be in the squad of the England International team during the 2006 World Cup. His talent is so good that any non-football fan would also love to see him play.

Appearances – 22

Goals – 11

Assists – 11

Shots – 57

Goals per Match – 0.50

5. Juan Mata – Chelsea

Juan Mata could well be on his way to becoming a Chelsea legend in the coming years, provided they tie his contract down. The Spaniard has brilliant technical ability and is one of the most gifted players in the league at present. He averages a goal in every three games and his creative abilities have been breathtaking.

He has been more stronger than he was at Valencia. Moreover, he suits Premier League Football. Juan Mata is the complete package – Center Midfielder, Attacking Midfielder and winger. This makes the manager’s job easy to place him anywhere according to his abilities.

Appearances – 24

Goals – 10

Assists – 12

Shots – 44

Goals per Match – 0.42

4. Steven Gerrard – Liverpool

Steven Gerrard is a timeless legend of modern day football and his performances this season have been nothing short of outstanding. His drive is the reason Liverpool now look like a decent side with a realistic chance at Champions League football. Steven Gerrard is in the list of All time 11-man squad of Champions League because of his shots and conversion of shots.

Energy is most important in a football match. Playing every minute of the season is not easy for a 32 year old footballer. But, this man changes our beliefs and does whatever a 20-22 year footballer does.

Appearances – 26

Goals – 8

Assists – 12

Shots – 66

Goals per Match – 0.26

3. Michu – Swansea City

Michu was an unknown name till he started scoring the goals that he did. Having been bought by Laudrup for a small fee, he has changed the Swans’ fortunes and is one of the leading scorers in the league at the moment. He scores more with the head and less with the foot because of his heght and jumping attributes.

Miguel Perez Cuesta, his real name, has won the team matches against big teams such as Arsenal at the Emirates in the Premier League and Chelsea in the FA Cup. Being a midfielder, scoring so many goals is nothing short of legendary. This man has an excellent future at the Liberty Stadium, I have to say.

Appearances – 24

Goals – 15

Assists – 3

Shots – 73

Goals per Match – 0.60

2. Robin van Persie – Manchester United

Real Madrid v Manchester United - UEFA Champions League Round of 16

Nothing need be said about this man. He was top scorer last season and remains to be so this season as well. He has easily been the difference between the United team of last season and that of this season, notching up some very important goals. Last year, fans would call Arsenal as ’1-Man team’ because of this man.

His left foot is the most powerful in the Premier League as he has scored 11 goals out of 19 from his left foot. Robin van Persie is a sensation for the United team and we can conclude that there is no one in between Robin van Persie and the 20th English title for the Red Devils.

Appearances – 26

Goals – 19

Assists – 10

Shots – 88

Goals per Match – 0.73

1. Luis Suarez – Liverpool

Luis Suarez, in my opinion, is a better player than Robin van Persie. His skills down the wing as well as in the centre are brilliant to watch. To add to that, he also has a wide passing range. He is easily as influential as Torres once was for Liverpool. Everybody loves to watch Suarez play, as it makes us feel great about Football and about skills.

Luis Suarez needed a partner in the front after Andy Carroll was loaned to West Ham.So, Sturridge was bought by Brendan Rodgers and Suarez’s goalscoring threat again started. The only bad thing in him is that he is very indisciplined, and the diving He is technically gifted and he plays wherever he wants and he succeeds.

Appearances – 25

Goals – 18

Assists – 7

Shots – 136

Goals per Match – 0.69

The other players who can be in the Top 10 are:

- Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur)

- Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
