For as long as anyone can remember, David Silva's magic has been a hallmark of Manchester City's game.

David Silva joined Manchester City from Valencia in 2010 and has served the club through all its ups and downs ever since. Fondly nicknamed "Merlin", Silva's typically Spanish style of play adds a touch of flavor and class to Manchester City's imposing lineup.

The Spaniard may not have the largest physiques, but much like his compatriots, he makes up for it with an abundance of other crucial skills. David Silva is one of the best in the Premier League when it comes to passing and ball control, and his ability to create chances and providing key passes in extremely tight spaces sets him apart from other midfielders in England.

Silva's debut season made it clear to one and all why Manchester City had gone to great lengths to sign him. In the 2011 Manchester derby that is known today as the game that kickstarted the seismic shift in power in Manchester, Silva was at his unplayable best, scoring and assisting at will and Manchester United were beaten 6-1.

David Silva also has a glittering silverware cabinet in Manchester and has won two FA Cups, four League Cups, and four Premier League titles since the start of the decade. The playmaker, currently in the twilight of his career, has announced his departure from the Etihad at the end of the season and leaves Manchester City as an established club legend.
