Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona (07 May, 2019)
Barcelona decimated Liverpool 3-0 in the first-leg of their semifinal clash in the Champions League, with Lionel Messi scoring a brace and with their talisman in the form he was in, the Catalans seemed on course for a record-extending third treble.
Things however, unraveled when they came up against Liverpool in the return leg just six days after their first-leg victory.
Much has been made about the atmosphere of Anfield on European nights and Barcelona were first-hand witnesses of this, with the Reds coming out to loud renditions of You'll Never Walk Alone and the stadium rocking with belief right from the first minute.
This passion and belief rubbed off on the players and the home side went ahead in the 7th minute when Divock Origi converted a parry by Ter Stegen.
Gini Wjnaldum scored a quickfire brace in the second half to level the tie and quick thinking by Trent Alexander Arnold and Divock Origi helped complete the comeback to add yet another remarkable European performance to the annals of Liverpool football club.
