Romelu Lukaku was the man who replaced Mauro Icardi at Inter Milan. Such have been his performances for the Italian giants that it would be fair to say that Icardi is not being missed.

The Belgian joined Inter Milan from Manchester United for a fee of £74 million. A prolific goalscorer at every he club he has been at, Lukaku has continued this trend at Inter Milan as well. He fits the Antonio Conte system perfectly, with his big presence and match intelligence winning Inter many points.

Conte wanted him during his spell at Chelsea, but Lukaku decided to move to the Red Devils at the time. They are united now, and the result has been phenomenal. The 27-year old has made 41 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists.

Real Madrid have tried to replace club legend Marcelo for some time now. They gave opportunities to academy graduates Achraf Hakimi and Sergi Reguilon, who have failed to perform and left the club.

Los Blancos decided to spend £43 million to bring Ferland Mendy from Lyon and the move seems to be paying dividends already. Mendy has been an excellent left-back for Real Madrid this season, strong defensively and good going forward. While Marcelo's attacking prowess remains unmatched, Mendy's skill-set looks more balanced.

The France international has rotated well with Marcelo this season. In 28 appearances in all competitions for the club, the 25-year old has provided two assists.

The former Toulouse forward was previously linked with a move to Manchester United before moving to Monaco. In an unbalanced Monaco side, Ben Yedder has probably been the one shining light.

The 29-year old has made 31 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 19 goals and providing four assists.

Paris Saint-Germain undoubtedly have an incredible academy, but it seems to benefit other clubs rather than the French giants.

Christopher Nkunku is one such player. He moved to RB Leipzig from the Parisian giants for a bargain fee of £12 million, and he has been one of the best creators in the Bundesliga this season.

The France U21 international has been an everpresent for Julian Nagelsmann's side, playing in a variety of positions. He has been utilised as a winger, a central midfielder, a striker as well as a left wing-back by the German this season.

The 22-year-old has made 42 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring five goals and providing 13 assists.

Capable of playing as a right-back as well as a central defender, the former Lille man has been essential for Hansi Flick's side. The 24-year old has made 48 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring four goals and providing six assists.
