Top 10 young footballers to watch out for this season

Girona FC v Real Madrid CF - La Liga

The FIFA World Cup 2018 ended with France being crowned as the champions of the world and one of the major, if not the most essential element for their success, was the 19 years old Golden Boy Kylian Mbappe, who is set to become one of the best players in the world in next 5 years.

The regular football season has slowly started taking shape and in few weeks we will see many experienced stars rising to occasions for their squads among them, some totally unknown names will have the opportunities to make a name for themselves.

So, let's discuss the potential young superstars for this season:

#10 Marco Asensio

Marco Asensio has already been called up for the Spanish national squad on several occasions. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder didn't disappoint his fans as he delivered some remarkable performances.

But before being called up for his national side, Asensio was performing consistently for Los Blancos in the star-studded squad.

He played 32 La Liga matches in the 2017-18 season while starting 19 matches. His scoring ability from distance makes him stand out.

#9 Vinicius Junior

Flamengo v Parana - Brasileirao Series A 2018

Real Madrid have put their hopes to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo on the 18-year-old Brazilian left winger who just completed his transfer to Real Madrid for a transfer fee around €45 m euros.

In his previous season, Vinicius was not a regular starter for his club but was frequently used as a sub to have an impact on the game by coming late. Junior is a player with amazing technical ability and skills which makes him a sensational wing player.

After Ronaldo's shock move to Turin this summer Los Blancos are in desperate need of a talented forward like him to support Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

#8 Ousmane Dembele

Barcelona v Leganes - La Liga

Ousmane Dembele is the 4th most expensive transfer of all time. He made a move from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona in 2017 for a transfer fee of about €105m euros as a result, expectations were high for the 21-year-old French winger.

Despite looking shaky at the start, he took his time to blend himself according to Barca's playing style and tactics Dembele delivered some remarkable performances last season.

This season we are hoping to see some more spectacular performances from him as his confidence must be boasted after winning the world cup.

#7 Timo Werner

Korea Republic v Germany: Group F - 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia

When Miroslav Klose retired from the German national team back in 2014, he left a void to be filled at the striking position for the Germans.

Mario Gomez was playing good but was not so consistent, but in the 2016-17 season, Bundesliga had a new star in making named Timo Werner.

Werner netted 21 goals in 31 appearances for RB Leipzig. As a reward for his brilliant performances, Timo got a chance to represent his nation.

Though it is too soon to reach any conclusions, we can presumably say Timo he going to spearhead German attack in coming years.

#6 Gabriel Jesus

Manchester City v Huddersfield Town - Premier League

Gabriel Jesus had a good regular season with Manchester city, pairing up with Sergio Aguero on several occasions and netting few goals taking his scoring tally in double digits.

Though at the World Cup it seemed like he didn't buy his shooting boots as he couldn't even score a single goal throughout the campaign.

We know how good he is when he hits his form so, he would be looking to turn the tables around this season and reciprocate his 2017-18 season form.

#5 Dele Alli

Watford v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

In a football game, playing in midfield is one of the most difficult challenges as the performance of the midfielders can change the outcome of the matches.

Dele Alli one is among the best young midfielders at the moment in the world. He is a skilled passer of the and along with that is good at reading games.

This year for Tottenham's success Alli will play a key part along with Christian Eriksen, the duo will be looking to feed quality balls to their forward and ace striker Harry Kane.

#4 Christian Pulisic

Borussia Dortmund v Benfica - International Champions Cup 2018

The American wonder kid and Borussia Dortmund's star in making is the 19-year-old Christian Pulisic.

He is blessed with outrageous speed and good skills. His stats before turning 19 are better than both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

He can play a wider role too but can cause real problems for opposing team defenders while playing at a central role.

#3 Gianluigi Donnarumma

SSC Napoli v AC Milan - Serie A

AC Milan may have many problems but having a terrific goalkeeper is not one of them. The 19-year-old Gianluigi Donnarumma has already been a brick wall at the back for the club performing consistently in last two seasons.

He is linked with several clubs for a move away from the Italian giants in search of winning more silverware.

He is surely one of the top talents in the world at this moment to watch out for this season.

#2 Marcus Rashford

Brighton & Hove Albion v Manchester United - Premier League

Since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, Manchester United has failed to retain their former dominance over the English football.

But with the arrival of Jose Mourinho couple of seasons back things are starting to improve for the Red Devils and playing a key role in the Jose Mourinho squad is the young English striker Marcus Rashford who is just 20 years old and already shown what he is capable of as he has delivered some game-winning performances for United.

This season, he has been trusted with the No.10 shirt which was previously worn by great names like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the club's all-time leading scorer Wayne Rooney.
