The 19-year-old Kylian Mbappé was France's weapon after defending close to goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. Mbappé's pace was perfect for France style of play, and in creating counter attack opportunities against the big teams, the Didier Deschamps-led squad had to face in the knockout stage.
Mbappé showed the world his value as a young footballer who arrived in the scene and exploded his ability. In his first World Cup with France, Mbappé scored four goals in the French championship run, three of those goals came in the knockout stage, two versus Argentina (the teenager's best match) and the other in the final versus Croatia.
The speedy French winger won the best young player award in the tournament. Keep in mind Mbappé might play in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with 23 years old and his national team as the reigning champion.
