Coventry City 3 – 2 Arsenal (1999)
Arsenal travelled to Highfield Road in good spirits but left empty-handed. Gary McAllister broke the deadlock when he surged forward before trying a speculative shot that took a deflection off Martin Keown, leaving David Seaman with no chance. The Sky Blues were two up just before the break, as McAllister turned provider feeding a perfectly weighted ball to Mustapha Hadji, who curled a shot beyond the reach of Seaman. Freddie Ljungberg reduced the arrears when he poked home after 65 minutes at the third time of asking. The goal appeared to give the Gunners much-needed impetus, but Robbie Keane made it 3-1 with a brilliant piece of improvisation, flicking the ball past Seaman. Davor Suker grabbed one back with five minutes remaining but Coventry held on for a famous victory.
