#3 Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1) - €993.75m
Paris Saint-Germain missed out on both the UEFA Champions League and the Ligue 1 title, capping off a largely disappointing campaign last season. This season, they are going all out to get the biggest names and bring the UEFA Champions League to France, and the valuation is fairly reflective of their ambition.
With a valuation of €993.75m, Paris Saint-Germain are comfortably the most expensive club in France, and can give many other historic teams a run for their money. Rated at €160m, World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe is the most valuable player in PSG’s ranks. Neymar, who was the mastermind behind the famous 6-1 win of Barcelona over PSG, is valued at €100m, and new signing Lionel Messi sits at third with a market value of €80m.
This season, PSG will look to bag both the domestic and continental crowns, and anything less than that — with this squad — would be embarrassing.
#2 Chelsea (Premier League) - €996.50m
Chelsea were never as illustrious as Manchester United, but their recent run of form has allowed them to sit at the high table. They have a young, exciting squad, which reflects fairly on their valuation.
Last season, Chelsea enjoyed a terrific run in the UEFA Champions League, as they beat Real Madrid and Manchester City in the semi-finals and final, respectively, to bring the “Old Big Ears” to Stamford Bridge. The Blues’ exploits — and the transfer of Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window — has taken their squad value to €996.50m, making them the second-most valuable team in the world. Romelu Lukaku, Mason Mount, and Kai Havertz are their three most valuable players, with market values of €100m, €75m, and €70m, respectively.
Chelsea will start the 2021-22 Premier League season as one of the strongest title contenders and will look to give Manchester City a run for their money.
#1 Manchester City (Premier League) - €1.06bn
Manchester City have been a force to be reckoned with in the English Premier League. Seeing them atop the list of the most valuable clubs is hardly a surprise.
The Sky Blues squad is currently valued at a whopping €1.06bn, making them the only club to touch the billion mark. Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, and Phil Foden are the three most valuable members of the Manchester City squad, valued at €100m, €90m, and €80m, respectively.
Pep Guardiola has changed the definition of success at Manchester City, turning them into a winning machine. They have bagged three Premier League titles in the last four years and we will not bet against them this year either. They played their first ever UEFA Champions League final last season and will try their best to go the distance this time around.
