The resurgence at Anfield has taken the Premier League by storm. Liverpool has been bulldozing aside competition this season and is still unbeaten in the league, sitting second after 13 games, a period where they have won 10 and drawn the remaining 3 games! A lot of the credit has to go to the fantastic defence, which has been impregnable at times.

Liverpool has conceded just 5 goals in 13 games so far in the Premier League. In the Champions League though, the defence has already conceded the same number of goals in 4 games in the group stages. While also taking into consideration the 2 goals Chelsea scored against them in the EFL Cup, Liverpool has conceded just 12 goals in 18 games in all competitions so far.
The answer to all of Liverpool's problems from last season has been Dutchman Virgil van Dijk, who has started in every game in the Premier League and the Champions League this season.
Credit, of course, is also due to Brazilian custodian Allison, who has strengthened Liverpool's weakest link and has already picked up 8 clean sheets in the Premier League! If the defence continues to stay this compact till the end of the season, Liverpool will be serious contenders for the crown.

Deepungsu holds a PG degree in Microbiology and an MBA degree in Total Quality Management. He has an extensive two-decade long writing experience, which includes a decade of sports blogging. His writing prowess has even led his work getting cited on the legendary Franz Beckenbauer's Wikipedia page.
Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
