#3 - Lucas Vázquez
Lucas Vázquez's time at Real Madrid has been complicated. He was loaned out in 2014 to Espanyol, who had the option of signing him permanently at the end of the season.
They picked up the option and sealed the deal for around €2 million on June 3. Real Madrid, however, decided they wanted Lucas Vázquez back and activated his buy-back clause on June 30.
The Spaniard has been with the club ever since. Vazquez has made 246 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions in a number of positions, including right-back.
The Spaniard penned a three-year deal this year, which will keep him at Madrid until 2024.
#2 - Daniel Carvajal
Daniel Carvajal is another player on this list that Real Madrid sold and then re-signed by activating his buy-back clause. The right-back was shipped out to Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 and bought back a year later for €6.5 million.
He joined Real Madrid when he was just a 10-year-old after spending a couple of years at ADCR Lemans. The Spaniard has been a reliable player for Real Madrid and has made the right-back spot his own.
He has made close to 300 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions, winning the Champions League four times and the league title twice. He too penned a new deal this summer, keeping him at the club until 2025.
#1 - Federico Valverde - Real Madrid's next superstar?
Federico Valverde is being touted as a future replacement for Luka Modric. The Uruguayan is only 23, but he has shown he can handle the pressure of playing in the top flight.
The former Penarol player spent a year with Real Madrid Castilla before being loaned out to Deportivo La Coruna for a season. Valverde was promoted to the first team by Julen Lopetegui when he took over in 2018, and the midfielder has been a part of the first team ever since.
Valverde has already made 80 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid and has netted five times. As things stand, the sky is the limit for the talented midfielder.
