#3 Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)
One has to wonder how much the Manchester City transfer saga has distracted Harry Kane.
One of the best strikers in world football, Kane was heavily linked with a big-money move to Manchester City this summer. However, Tottenham Hotspur played hardball, and Manchester City ultimately admitted defeat. Kane subsequently announced his decision to stay with his current club this summer.
The England international has made two starts in the Premier League so far, and is yet to score a goal. Kane is renowned for his prolific goalscoring and overall quality, so the goals should start flowing sooner rather than later.
#2 Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea)
Chelsea added one of the best strikers in the world to their Champions League-winning squad this summer.
Romelu Lukaku returned to Chelsea after two world-class seasons with Inter Milan for a fee of £103.5 million. Lukaku is no stranger to the Premier League, having been on the books of Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Manchester United before.
The Belgium international guarantees goals. Lukaku has scored goals for every club he has represented at an extremely consistent rate. The 28-year old has enjoyed an excellent start to his second spell with Chelsea. In three league appearances, he has three goals.
#1 Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)
All eyes were on Cristiano Ronaldo last night as he started for Manchester United against Newcastle United.
The transfer that surprised everyone, Ronaldo's return to Manchester United was not even discussed during the start of the transfer window. The Portugal international enjoys legendary status among the Old Trafford faithful, and the stadium was vibrating with positivity last night.
Ronaldo did not disappoint. The 36-year old scored a brace against Newcastle United. Ronaldo remains a world-class goalscorer and will be aiming to win the Premier League Golden Boot once again. He previously won the award for his performances during the 2007-08 season.
