The 69-year-old began his managerial career way back in 1982 with Sampdoria in the Italian league and has since coached the likes of Napoli, Juventus and Inter Milan before winning the World Cup with Italy in 2006.
The Champions League winning manager was appointed as the coach of China after impressing with Guangzhou Evergrande. China have had limited success in qualifying for the World Cup but have reached the AFC Asian Cup finals and will be hoping to give a strong showing.
