At the top of this list, by a huge margin, is Alexis Sanchez.

This signing was a real statement of intent from United. The agreed deal would see Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to Arsenal in exchange for Sanchez. The switch would save a fair amount of money in transfer costs, but the wages per week certainly made up for that, as Sanchez earns £20,800,000 a year purely through his salary at Old Trafford!

However, the Chilean is yet to make a real impact at United, which has left some fans wondering whether the deal was even worth it. But next season will be Sanchez's first full campaign at the club, as he began his United career mid-way through the season as a result of his January transfer, so then will be the time to prove his worth to the world.
