When this video surfaced on the internet, almost everyone was taken aback. After all, throwing the mic in a nearby lake was something too extreme even for Cristiano Ronaldo's standards.
Apparently, when a CMTV reporter approached Cristiano Ronaldo and asked him if he was prepared for the next match (at the Euro 2016 against Hungary), he simply snatched the mic from him and threw it in the pond beside him.
The reason wasn't clear at first, but it was later found out that CMTV made a lot of reports that had something to do with the personal life of the Portugal captain. The former Manchester United man might be a global superstar - a phenomenon, a limelight grabber - but even he doesn't like it if his personal life is touched.
Indeed, it is for this reason as to why he likes to keep his closed ones away from all the attention and frenzy. So when a CMTV journalist approached him and simply asked him a generic question, he was just having none of it.
And, obviously, Cristiano Ronaldo got a lot of criticism for handling the affair the way he did.
