1. David Luiz to Barcelona
With the Catalan club in desperate need of a Centre Back, it is widely speculated that ‘Tata’ Martino will be launching a £29 million bid to lure the Brazil international to the Camp Nou. However, with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho having ruled out a move for Luiz in the January window, it will be interesting to see whether Barca make an another increased bid for the versatile defender.
A centre back has become a necessity for Barcelona, with an amoebic defensive line. Alex Song has been a liability now, and it won’t be surprising if Barcelona offload him to facilitate the transfer of Luiz. With Luiz having stated that he wants to play for the Catalans, it’s obvious that Barca need him and Luiz needs Barcelona.2. Luis Suarez to Real Madrid
Current Real Madrid Striker Karim Benzema is massively out of form, and it has been rumoured that his future lies at the Emirates Stadium or at Anfield. The Madrid giants are speculated to launch a bid for the current Premier League’s highest scorer in January, to have him in their forward line alongside Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The arrival of Suarez might lead to lesser playing time for upcoming talents like Jese and Morata. However, Arsenal are reportedly interested in Morata and Benzema, with Arsene Wenger preferring the latter. One can’t rule out the possibility of a player plus cash deal for Suarez, landing Benzema at Anfield.3. Koke to Manchester United
The 21-year-old Atletico Madrid midfielder with his young age, skills and technique has raised the eyebrows of none other than David Moyes, who was present at the Estadio Vincente Calledron to observe the midfielder play. With the player having ruled out a move to the defending Premier League Champions, it is understood that Moyes will launch a bid in January to spruce up his midfield.
Darren Fletcher made his return from injury against Aston Villa, and with recent acquisition Marouane Fellaini hardly making the desired impact, and with Carrick and Cleverley not quite making any attempt to dictate the flow of the game, a upcoming world class talent like Koke might be just what Moyes needs to carry on the legacy of Paul Scholes.4. Robert Lewandowski to Bayern Munich
After the player had publically admitted that his future lay at the Allianz Arena, it was almost confirmed that he would be joining the current European champions at the end of his contract. However, with Bayern coach Pep Guardiola known to rarely use complete forwards, it is speculated that he will be remain a second choice to in-form Mario Mandzukic. With interest from many EPL giants, no one is betting their money on this contract rebel.
Bayern Munich frontman Mario Gomez left for the same reason, with him stating that Guardiola’s use of non-strikers being one of the reasons of his departure. However, there are many EPL clubs pursuing the signing of Lewandowski, with Arsenal and Manchester United leading the race, both in need of world class strikers. If all goes good, Lewandowski might be available for as less as 8 million pounds in the January transfer window.5. Marc Andre Ter-Stegen to Barcelona:
Current Barcelona No. 1 Victor Valdes has stated that he wishes to leave the Camp Nou at the end of his contract, and it cannot be denied that Barca will try to sell him in the January transfer window, with AS Monaco being his rumored destination. This 21 year old Borussia Monchengladbach shot stopper has stated earlier that playing at Barcelona is a ‘dream’ for him, and with him learning Spanish and asking his agent to scout for a house in Barcelona, it’s just a matter of time before he is announced as the official replacement to Valdes.
Ter Stegen is an immediate requirement for Barcelona, because they need an upcoming world class talent to stay between the sticks at Camp Nou for at least the next ten years, like Valdes did. They need someone who can organize and conduct defences, which he certainly excels in at his current club. Stegen is eyeing a world cup spot in the Germany squad, which will give him a massive career boost for sure. He has competition with Neuer, Adler and Weidenfeller, but some inspiring performances at the Camp Nou might just get him what he needs. Again, Stegen needs Barcelona and vice-versa.
