Current Barcelona No. 1 Victor Valdes has stated that he wishes to leave the Camp Nou at the end of his contract, and it cannot be denied that Barca will try to sell him in the January transfer window, with AS Monaco being his rumored destination. This 21 year old Borussia Monchengladbach shot stopper has stated earlier that playing at Barcelona is a ‘dream’ for him, and with him learning Spanish and asking his agent to scout for a house in Barcelona, it’s just a matter of time before he is announced as the official replacement to Valdes.

Ter Stegen is an immediate requirement for Barcelona, because they need an upcoming world class talent to stay between the sticks at Camp Nou for at least the next ten years, like Valdes did. They need someone who can organize and conduct defences, which he certainly excels in at his current club. Stegen is eyeing a world cup spot in the Germany squad, which will give him a massive career boost for sure. He has competition with Neuer, Adler and Weidenfeller, but some inspiring performances at the Camp Nou might just get him what he needs. Again, Stegen needs Barcelona and vice-versa.
