This has been a very disappointing season for Manchester United. Who would have thought at the start of the season that Red Devils would be languishing in 7th place after playing 26 games in the league. They have already lost 8 games this season in the league and are also out of the FA cup and League Cup. There have been only some great moment for Manchester United to be happy of. Instead of focusing on the negativity , I will look at Top 5 moments that Manchester United had this season.

First piece of Silverware

Manchester United had a turbulent start to the 2013/2014 season. Manchester United faced Wigan Athletic in traditional curtain raiser. It was the first official game for David Moyes .It was a great way to start his Manchester United Career by winning a Silverware in his first game.

Manchester United won the game 2-0 with both goals coming from Dutch Hitman Robin Van Persie.Zaha and Januzaj also made their debut in this game. It turned out to be a routine victory for Manchester United in a great Wembley atmosphere .

The Premier League champions were too strong for last season’s FA Cup winners. David Moyes couldn’t have asked for a better start. It is for sure one of the highs for Manchester United this season.

This was a very important game for Manchester United. A loss against Arsenal could have taken United to as low as 9th Spot. Arsenal were on the roll prior to this game, they had just defeated last season’s Champions League Finalist Dortmund that week.

So many predicted Arsenal to at last win at Oldtrafford but it didn’t happen. Manchester United won the game 1-0. The sole goal was scored by none other than RVP. This was the first big win for Moyes in the league. Not only they won but Manchester United also played a very disciplined and intelligent football that day.

Ozil has never been the same after that game, the way Phil Jones man marked Ozil through out the game was a treat to watch for United fans. Many thought it could be the start of wonderful period under Moyes but alas it was not be. But no matter what this was a very satisfying victory for Manchester United and their supporters.

Adnan Januzaj signs a new 5 year contract

If there has been one big positive for Manchester United this season then it has to be the emergence of their academy player Adnan Januzaj. With clubs like PSG, Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid wanting to sign Januzaj, Manchester United had to act fast and sign Adnan Januzaj for a long term. They couldn’t have lost Januzaj like they had lost Pogba and Morrison. On October 19th when Manchester United signed the Belgium prodigy on a 5 year contract, it was a big relief for everyone involved with the club. David Moyes expressed his delight on signing Januzaj .

The biggest concern that majority of Manchester United fans had was, how good Manchester United will perform under David Moyes in Champions League football. Like the Arsenal game, this was a very important and a tough game.

Manchester United had to go to Bay Arena and beat Bayer Leverkusen in order to progress and finish top in their group. Manchester United not only won this game but gave their best performance of this season.

This was a team performance. Shinji Kagawa had one of his best game in United shirt, Rooney also played a pivotal role. The others like Giggs, Valencia and Smalling also had a great game.

United’s travelling fans were in full voice throughout, going through their full repertoire of songs, on a night when Moyes took another significant step forward in leading the club towards a new era of success. The Night at Bay Arena will always be remembered by Moyes.

Juan Mata comes to Old Trafford

This has to be a great moment for Manchester United. Who would have thought that Juan Mata who was Chelsea’s best player for the last two seasons would be playing for Manchester United. Juan Mata is one of the best attacking midfielder in the World football today. Manchester United signed Juan Mata for £37.1m a record transfer deal for them The deal broke the record previous signing of Manchester United of Dimitar Berbatov . Mata became the second prolific signing for David Moyes after Fellaini. After sfailing to sign a top player in the summer, Ed Woodward and Moyes had the pressure of signing a world class player in January Window, and they did that. This was what Mata said after Joining reigning Champions

Even David Moyes was very much excited after adding Mata to his squad.
