Jürgen Klopp joined Liverpool in October 2015 and was immediately tasked with steadying the ship and helping the Reds finish the season in a respectable position. They finished 8th in the league, but the Anfield faithful were treated to some great football. A sign of things to come.
Liverpool reached two cup finals that season, with their run to the Europa League final being a particular highlight in the eyes of fans. The best game from that run came against the Kloop's former side Borussia Dortmund. After conceding two quick goals, the Reds had it all to do to progress to the semi-finals.
The Kop was tremendous on the night and helped Liverpool push their way back into the match. Dortmund led 3-1 midway through the second half and left the Reds requiring three goals to win the tie. It was Philippe Coutinho and Mamadou Sakho who scored to make it 3-3 and right at the death, Liverpool achieved the impossible.
Dejan Lovren headed in the 90th-minute winner that sent the Kop wild. The Reds beating Dortmund 4-3 instantly became one of the greatest European nights that Anfield had ever seen and contributed in making Liverpool's home ground a fortress for the years to come.
