Neville spent most of his initial time on the bench due to competition from seniors Denis Irwin and Lee Sharpe. But he cemented his position from the 1995-96 season. His talent, leadership ability and loyalty have been respected by United fans to date.

Despite his poor disciplinary record, Paul Scholes was a favorite of his manager. The former Manchester United midfielder was known for his passing accuracy and long-range stunners. He retired alongside Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013 after winning his 11th and Manchester United's 20th league title.
His last game was also his 499th Premier League game.

Another Manchester United player, another one-club man and another successful Premier League player. We are talking about none other than Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs.
Ryan Giggs was part of Manchester United's roster for 24 years. The Welsh international has won the coveted Premier League title a record 13 times. This means Manchester United have won only seven titles without having Ryan Giggs by their side.
Giggs donned multiple roles at the club which involved that of a midfielder, winger and leader among others. He stood by the club during its transition period and kept the metronome ticking while United were coping up with Ferguson's retirement.
In 2014, Giggs became the only player-manager in the club's history after David Moyes was sacked. Giggs had a highly decorated career that included 24 seasons, 114 goals and 13 Premier League titles. He has set a record that is nearly impossible to break.
