The Champions League Round of 16 handed some interesting and some spectacular draws. None of the matches drawn, however, will be bigger than the tie between the current UCL holders Real Madrid and French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
Both of these clubs are rich in history, with multiple trophies won throughout their existence. A host of talented players have represented the clubs through the decades and here, we take a look at 5 players who donned both the clubs' colours at some stage in their career.
#5 Jesé
Jesé is a Spanish footballer who graduated from Real Madrid's La Fabrica. Currently plying his trade in the Premier League at Stoke City, the 24 year old spent 5 seasons at Real Madrid before moving to Paris Saint-Germain.
He won a host of trophies during his stay at Real Madrid which include one Copa Del Rey, one La Liga title, two Champions League titles and one FIFA Club World Cup. All in all, he played a total of 94 matches for Real Madrid scoring 18 goals.
He moved to PSG in the summer of 2016 for a sum of around €25 million. His move, however, did not go to plan with him making just 14 appearances with a paltry return of 2 goals. He has been loaned out in successive seasons but is still on the books at PSG.
#4 Gabriel Heinze
Gabriel Heinze is a retired Argentine defender who plied his trade at various top European clubs during his playing career.
Heinze spent 3 seasons at PSG from 2001-2004, amassing over 100 appearance for the club where he became a mainstay of the defense. His only trophy with the club, however, was a solitary Coupe de France in the 2003-04 season.
Heinze would go on to play at Real Madrid, after 3 years with Manchester United, where he helped Real win the La Liga title in 2007-08, making 20 appearances in the league. He spent one more season at the club before moving on.
#3 Ángel Di María
Ángel Di María is an Argentine currently playing at PSG. The 29 year old moved to the club in the summer of 2015 from Manchester United, in a deal thought to be around £44 million.
Previously, Di María wore Read Madrid's shirt for 5 seasons, scoring 36 goals in his 190 appearances for the club. Di María had a hugely successful spell at the club, winning a host of trophies. His honours include a La Liga title, two Copa Del Rey titles, a Champions League title and the UEFA Super Cup title.
Di María made the move to England to Manchester United from Real but the move turned out to be an ill-advised one and he was sold to PSG just one season later.
He again proved to be a success at PSG, winning the league title once and both the Coupe de France and Coupe de La Ligue twice. He has scored 30 goals in 98 appearances for the club so far.
#2 Claude Makélélé
Claude Makélélé is a retired French international who played for a host of Europe's top clubs and redefined the holding midfield position.
He was a integral part of a Real Madrid team boasting the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo, providing the defensive shield for them to truly express themselves. He spent 4 seasons at Real Madrid, winning one Champions League trophy, two La Liga titles, one UEFA Super Cup and one Intercontinental title.
He would move on to Chelsea after a demand for an improved contract was refused by Madrid's president, Florentino Perez. He would take the Premier League by storm for 5 years, eventually moving on to PSG where he finished his playing career.
He spent the last three seasons of his career at PSG, winning the Coupe de France in the 2009-10 season and finishing with 118 appearances for the club.
#1 David Beckham
David Beckham needs no introduction. The most famous footballer of all times played at some truly great clubs in his career.
Leaving Manchester United after winning virtually everything there, he joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2003, in a deal worth €35 million. He would go on to form an integral part of the Galacticos squad which surprisingly under-performed. During his four years at Real, he won just a single La Liga title.
He went on to end his career at PSG, joining them in the winter transfer window in January 2013 in a five month deal. He made 14 appearances for the club and won the Ligue 1 title, giving him the distinction of having won the league with every one of his permanent clubs.
