Claude Makélélé is a retired French international who played for a host of Europe's top clubs and redefined the holding midfield position.
He was a integral part of a Real Madrid team boasting the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo, providing the defensive shield for them to truly express themselves. He spent 4 seasons at Real Madrid, winning one Champions League trophy, two La Liga titles, one UEFA Super Cup and one Intercontinental title.
He would move on to Chelsea after a demand for an improved contract was refused by Madrid's president, Florentino Perez. He would take the Premier League by storm for 5 years, eventually moving on to PSG where he finished his playing career.
