Manchester City v FC Shakhtar Donetsk - UEFA Champions League Group F
David Silva's importance to Manchester City cannot be put do to words. Last season, the Spaniard had to take the back seat as De Bruyne took all the accolades, however, in truth, David Silva was phenomenal as City finished Champions with a record 100 points. It was Silva's character, his genius and his tenacity that allowed Pep to play two No. 10s in a 3 man midfield and still ensure that Fernandinho was not overrun by the opposition. De Bruyne finished with 16 assists in the Premier League, while David Silva registered 11 assists. The Belgian scored 8 goals, while the Spaniard scored 9.
This season, De Bruyne was ruled out for three months with a torn knee ligament at the start of the season and City's season looked bleak. However, Silva's genius has ensured that City are unbeaten at the top of the league after 12 games, winning 10 and drawing 2. The Spaniard has already scored 7 goals and registered 3 assists from 15 games in all competitions so far and his assured presence has been indispensable for City this season. There can be no doubts whatsoever that David Silva is, right now, the best Spaniard in the Premier League.

Deepungsu holds a PG degree in Microbiology and an MBA degree in Total Quality Management. He has an extensive two-decade long writing experience, which includes a decade of sports blogging. His writing prowess has even led his work getting cited on the legendary Franz Beckenbauer's Wikipedia page.
Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
