Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 5 goals in a single La Liga match on two different occasions, while Messi has achieved the same feat in the Champions League. But, there have been two players in LaLiga history to score 7 goals in a single fixture.

Athletic Bilbao's Agustin Sauto scored seven goals in one game back in 1932, a feat that was then repeated in 1952 by Barcelona's Laszlo Kubala. Messi, on the other hand, has scored only four goals in a single LaLiga match.
