Lionel Messi has openly admitted that Barcelona desperately needs to win the Champions League and the newly appointed Barcelona skipper seems to have taken the responsibility himself. The brilliant Argentinean has already scored 12 goals from 12 games in all competitions so far, and in the Champions League, Messi has scored 5 goals from 2 games.
The Argentinean started the new Champions League season with a fantastic hattrick against PSV Eindhoven at home, as Barcelona won their opening game 4-0. He then travelled to Wembley to face Tottenham Hotspur and mesmerized the world, scoring a brace as Barcelona won the hard-fought game 4-2.

However, last weekend, Messi was hurt in the home game against Sevilla FC, where he had to be replaced in the 29th minute. This meant that he had to watch from the stands as Barcelona got the better of Inter at home this week.
The little magician will be hoping to return to action soon and will be raring to resume his goal scoring. A better goal per game average sees him as the Top Contender for the Champions League Golden Boot for the month of October 2018, and he will be hoping that he remains there when we update the list at the end of next month.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
