Raheem Sterling was second in the race at the start of December. However, the month had not been kind to him, as the Englishman scored just 1 goal from 5 games since our last assessment and dropped down the ranks. Incidentally, City lost 3 of those 5 games!
After watching from the bench as his team overcame Watford, Sterling was reinstated in the starting eleven ahead of the crunch tie against Chelsea. He failed to score, as City lost their first game of the season. He come off the bench in the next game against Everton and found the back of the net. Since then, Sterling has failed to score in the last 3 games, which included shocking defeats against Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
The Englishman has now scored 9 goals from 17 appearances so far this season. He is averaging 0.53 goals per game and has hit the woodwork thrice this season already. At the start of January 2019, Raheem Sterling is 6th among the top contenders for the Premier League Golden Boot.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
