One of two deadline day signings by Roberto Martinez, the defensive midfielder has helped filled the last-minute void left by Marouane Fellaini’s departure to Manchester United.
And the overlooked England international hasn’t disappointed with his assured displays in the middle of the park. The 32-year-old has also ensured that the Toffees haven’t missed retired skipper Phil Neville’s experience.
