Lionel Messi became the all-time top goalscorer of La Liga on Saturday after scoring a hat-trick in Barcelona’s 5-1 win over Sevilla.

The Argentine broke Telmo Zarra’s previous record of 251 goals as he took his career tally to 253 league goals on a night where the Blaugranas completely dominated their opponents. After the game, Messi was acknowledged by his team-mates as he was given the guard of honour and a tribute video was shown in the Camp Nou.
