Rome, April 29 (IANS): Torino striker Riccardo Meggiorini has insisted he did not racially abuse Juventus footballer Paul Pogba during the Turin Derby.
Juventus midfielder Pogba complained during the match Sunday, which the Bianconeri won 2-0, that Meggiorini had aimed a racist insult at him.
“There was an insult, but it was a perfectly ‘normal’ one, the kind you get in football,” Meggiorini said. “Pogba shouldn’t start crying and moaning if someone says something to him. I get insulted too, but I don’t complain, because in football certain things are normal.”
“It’s not really a story as far as I am concerned and I am far more upset about losing the derby,” he said.
