Here are the player ratings from Tottenham vs Chelsea:
Tottenham (4-2-3-1)
Hugo Lloris: 6
Good save on Schurrle’s shot. Other than that, he had very little to do for the whole 90 minutes.
Kyle Walker: 7
Full of energy, running up and down the pitch. Decent game.
Michael Dawson: 7
Led the Spurs’ defense well but will be annoyed about Chelsea’s equalizer though.
Jan Vertonghen: 6
Average game by his standards. His needless foul led to the Chelsea’s goal.
Kyle Naughton: 6
A normal game without taking much risks. Kept things simple.
Paulinho: 7
Had one shot which came off the post in the first half. He was the soul of the Spurs’ midfield battle.
Mousa Dembele: 6
Started the game well but faded off in the second part of the game.
Andros Townsend: 7
Lots of tricky dribbles, but he still needs to improve his end product.
Christian Eriksen: 7
The Dane showed his class yet again with a superb build-up play to set up Tottenham’s goal. But his influence disappeared in the second half and he was replaced.
Gylfi Sigurdsson: 7
Another goal scoring performance from the attacking midfielder. Almost won the game with a nice turn & shot during the closing stages of the game.
Roberto Soldado: 5
A game to forget for the former Valencia man. He is yet to score a goal from open play in the league this season.
Subs:
Lewis Holtby: 6
Nacer Chadli: 5
Jermain Defoe: 6.5
Chelsea (4-2-3-1)
Petr Cech: 6
He did his job well. No way he could have done anything to stop the Tottenham goal. Urged his team forward with his good distributions.
Branislav Ivanovic: 7
Good defensive performance with lot of interceptions and timely blocks.
David Luiz: 6.5
Concentrated performance from the Brazilian. He didn’t try any of his fancy tricks today.
John Terry: 7
Should take a bit of blame for the opening goal but came back well by grabbing the equalizer for the Blues.
Ashley Cole: 6
Surprisingly, he rarely made any of his trademark overlapping runs today. Most of his game time was spent while defending Townsend and Walker’s darting runs.
John Obi Mikel: 5
Didn’t do anything exceptional. Paved the way for Mata’s introduction at the half time.
Kept things ticking for Chelsea with his disciplined passing.
Ramires: 6
Started the game on the right, where he was very poor. But improved a lot when he shifted to the middle again in the second half.
Oscar: 5.5
Not as creative as he could be. Gave away possession on many occasions.
Eden Hazard: 6
His average start to the season continues. Showed glimpses of his talent with few incisive runs though.
Energetic display from the £50 million man but his good work got marred when he was sent off for getting two yellow cards.
Subs:
Juan Mata: 8
Proved his worth to his manager with a super performance after coming on. Changed the course of the game with his vision and creativity.
Andre Schurrle: 6
Chelsea looked more threatening after he came on but he missed a great chance when he was put through by a well weighted pass from Torres.
Cesar Azpilicueta: N/A
