Liverpool fell to a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their League Cup semifinal clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Premier League leaders fell to just their second loss of the season and will be disappointed at the result after they controlled the game and created the most chances in the game.

The defining moment in the game came in the 86th minute after former Reds striker Dominic Solanke held off Ibrahima Konate to set up Lucas Bergval in the 86th minute.

Alison Becker- 6/10

The Brazilian had a decent game for Liverpool. He made two saves but conceded one from three shots faced.

Conor Bradley- 6.5/10

The Northern Ireland international had a decent game for the visitors before he was taken off on the hour mark. He completed 78% of his 45 passes and made five recoveries.

Jarell Quansah- 6.5/10

The young defender looked decent before he was forced off due to injury after just 30 minutes on the pitch.

Virgil van Dijk- 7/10

The Dutch defender put in a good shift for the Premier League table toppers. He made the most passes in the game (70) and won six out of eight duels.

Kobstantinos Tsimikas- 7/10

The Greek defender was solid for Arne Slot's side. He won 7/12 duels and made seven recoveries in the match.

Ryan Gravenberch- 7/10

The Dutch midfielder had a decent game for Liverpool. He completed 87% of his 55 passes and made five recoveries.

Alexis McAllister - 7/10

The World Cup winning midfielder was solid for the Merseyside club at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. He created two chances and made seven recoveries in a solid display.

Curtis Jones- 6.5/10

The English midfielder was decent for the Reds in their defeat but lacked the cutting edge to decide the game. He failed to create a single chance despite being the most accurate passer on the pitch (96% of 47 passes)with over 45 minutes under his belt.

Mohamed Salah- 6/10

Liverpool's Egyptian talisman had an uncharacteristically poor game for them in the semifinals against Tottenham. He managed just two shots, none of which tested the keeper.

Cody Gakpo- 7/10

The forward was solid for the Reds but could not score or assist to prevent a defeat in the first leg of their semifinal clash. He created three chances and drew a save on the game.

Diogo Jota- 6/10

The Portuguese striker had a poor game for the Reds. He managed just three touches in the Spurs box after an hour in the pitch.

Liverpool Substitutions

Wataru Endo- 6.5/10

The Japanese star came on for the injured Jarell Quansah and had a satisfactory 60 minutes on the pitch. He completed 60/64 passes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold- 6.5/10

The English defender came on after an hour but couldn't help his side to at least a draw in the match. He made four recoveries and won one duel in the match.

Darwin Nunez- 6/10

The Uruguayan striker failed to show any cutting edge for Liverpool following his introduction. He tested the Spurs goal three times following his introduction.

Luis Diaz- 6/10

The Colombian came on for 30 minutes on the pitch but could not help his side avoid defeat in the first leg of the semifinal.

Ibrahima Konate- 5/10

The Frenchman came on late in the game but was bullied by Dominic Solanke who set up Lucas Bergval to score the only goal in the game.
