#2 - Manchester United's young guns continue to impress
Against last season's Champions League finalists, Manchester United's young crop of players came of age as the likes of Andreas Pereira, Scott McTominay and Angel Gomes enhanced their growing reputations with creditable performances.
McTominay and Pereira started at the heart of Manchester United's midfield in the first-half alongside Paul Pogba and the trio of academy graduates oversaw proceedings as the Red Devils established a lead going into the break.
While McTominay was a calming influence as he broke play and recycled possession efficiently, Pereira played an instrumental role in the final third as he set up Anthony Martial for the opening goal.
Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera have departed the club since the turn of the year and with the lack of options in midfield, the academy pair could go on to play a key role this season for the Red Devils.
Angel Gomes is another one of Manchester United's crown jewels and he showed a glimpse of his outrageous potential. He scored a well-taken goal after a neat one-two with Juan Mata in the second half to score what turned out to be the winner.
