#3 Gareth Bale continues impressive renaissance
Fitness issues have plagued Gareth Bale for most of his second spell at Tottenham Hotspur, dampening the initial optimism that greeted his return.
However, the Wales international remains an elite player despite his travails at Real Madrid over the last few years. After his initial struggles, the 31-year-old has finally started coming good for Spurs.
A few weeks ago, the media was awash with rumors that he did not have the trust of Jose Mourinho, leading his agent to wade in on the matter.
It is unknown whether his lack of conditioning (owing to his long spells on the Madrid bench) contributed to his limited playing time, or if the recent slide in form left Mourinho with no option but to give Bale increased playing time.
However, the bottom line is that the Tottenham Hotspur number nine has taken his opportunity with both feet and has started showing the form that made him a White Hart Lane darling all those years ago.
Having scored a brace in the 4-0 demolition of Burnley last week, Bale starred again with another two goals against Crystal Palace to take his tally for the season to five goals and two assists from 11 Premier League games.
Bale's brace means he has now scored in three successive home matches for the first time since September 2013, when he netted in four games in a row for Real Madrid.
At this rate, it is hard to ignore the Welshman in the starting line-up, and Mourinho will be keen on him keeping his fine form going into the home run of the season.
#2 The Kane and Son combination goes into the record books
Harry Kane and Heung-min Son have developed an almost telepathic relationship for Tottenham Hotspur this season. Their connection has now seen them shatter a Premier League record that stood for almost 25 years.
Despite not getting on the scoresheet, Son set Kane up for Tottenham Hotspur's fourth goal, and it saw the iconic duo write their names into the Premier League record books.
Incredibly, it was the 14th time that both men had assisted one another in the league this term. This has surpassed the previous mark of 13 that had been reached by Blackburn's 'SAS' partnership of Chris Sutton and Alan Shearer in Rovers' 1994-95 title-winning season.
The only duo to come close to Tottenham Hotspur's pair in the 21st century are Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson, who assisted one another 12 times in the 2017-18 campaign.
Kane and Son equalled the record as far back as January when Kane assisted Son for Tottenham Hotspur's second goal in the 3-0 victory over Leeds United.
They had to wait over two months to break the record but they now have 11 games to create even more history together.
The goal combination also took them to 34 overall, just two short of the all-time mark of 36 reached by Chelsea legends Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.
#1 Five-star Harry Kane almost single-handedly puts Crystal Palace to the sword
Harry Kane started the game in the now-familiar role of a deep-lying playmaker, and the England international once again shone like a million stars.
His cross-field balls and diagonal passes constantly caught the Crystal Palace defense off-guard, and it was his ingenuity that set Bale up for Tottenham Hotspur's opening two goals.
Kane now has 13 Premier League assists, steering him clear of Kevin de Bruyne in the race to win the playmaker award for the campaign.
Having created the first two goals, Kane showcased his finishing instincts with two well-taken strikes to move him up to 16 Premier League goals for the season. He is now one short of Mo Salah in the Golden Boot race, and it is not beyond the realm of imagination that he can finish as both top scorer and top assist provider.
The first of the two goals was an incredible shot from outside the area that is undoubtedly a contender for goal of the season.
The brace and pair of assists mean that the Tottenham Hotspur number 10 has now been involved in 29 goals from just 25 Premier League matches.
At this rate, he is undoubtedly a strong contender to win a maiden PFA player of the Year award.
