Tottenham prepare £20m bid for Leandro Damião

A last minute bid for Brazil international Leandro Damião was made by Tottenham. The striker currently plays for Internacional.

Manager Andres Villas-Boas is in desperate need of a striker and wants a replacement for Adebayor.

The 23-year-old striker shot into the public eye with a series of outstanding performances for Brazil at London 2012 where he netted six goals in six games on their way to the final. He has had 14 appearance for Brazil senior squad.

Spurs had already approached Internacional before but their bid was rejected.

Damião’s agent commented, “While Leandro Damiao stays at Internacional, Tottenham will always be interested. Andre Villas-Boas has liked him since he was Chelsea‘s manager.”
