Tottenham Hotspur are all set to add CSKA Moscow striker Keisuke Honda to their ranks when he becomes a free agent in January, The Metro reports.

The Japan international is being chased by quite a few clubs who want to sign him when his deal with Russian side CSKA Moscow expires on December 31.

Italian giants AC Milan failed to sign him for £5 million this season but now Juventus, Monaco and Liverpool have joined the race to sign the player.

In spite of the competition Tottenham boss Andre Villas Boas is sure of landing the forward in the winter transfer window.

The 27-year-old can be deployed as a striker or a winger and has won critical acclaim for his lethal shots and pace on the pitch.

Honda recently confessed that he had received offers from a number of clubs and will make up his mind in the near future.

‘I have a number of options – when the time comes I will make a decision,’ Honda said.

‘I have now decided I will leave my club at the expiry of the contract, everything else will be decided soon.’

Tottenham are willing to offer Honda, who currently earns £70,ooo a week at Moscow, a big paycheck.

The signing would be a huge victory for Andre Villas Boas who is looking to strengthen his attacking options this winter.
