"Tottenham tried to sign me" claims Aubameyang

Borussia Dortmund striker/winger Pierre Aubameyang has claimed that Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs had attempted to sign the player on several occasions.

The 24-year-old was at St.Etienne when Spurs tried to woo him but the player joined Dortmund instead after his contract at the French club terminated.

“Tottenham tried to sign me in June 2012,” Aubameyang told The Sun.

“But in the end everything became a bit weird. I didn’t really like the way things were done.So, if Spurs ever came back in for me, I’d say no,” said the French international.

Aubameyang has scored 5 goals for the Bundesliga outfit in 9 appearances and would be a key player to watch out for as Dortmund face Arsenal in the Champions League group stage match at the Emirates stadium.
