Tottenham Hotspur will be without a manager as Harry Redknapp is likely to take up the England job for the Euro 2012 to be held in Poland and Ukraine in June. The coveted coach has done his bit for the club and is considered suitable for the national job. Redknapp had pushed his side to Champions league football in 2010-11 season and has a job at hand to deliver the same this year. Tottenham has been poor since recent months and has just won one premier league match out of 10 games. The dip has resulted in Arsenal and Newcastle to topple them in top four in the Premier league table. With three games to play and a match in hand Tottenham can still finish and qualify for Europe’s most highly rated competition. But apart from that is a crisis they are set to face if Redknapp quits the job. The manager has been the reason behind Tottenham’s plight at the top and also urging Luka Modric to stay despite when Chelsea was looking to sign the play-maker.
We will look at who are the possibilities of taking up the role when Harry leaves the job.
Fabio Capello-
The former England boss had quit the job after the row involving F.A and captain John Terry. The Italian manager is open for a move to England and coach a club and given his experience he can be a force at White Hart Lane. Capello can suit the attacking domain of play and if given a chance will boost the club. The former Real Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus coach has won league titles and knows the top level well. He will be hungry to prove his mettle once again and Tottenham is a club where he can do justice in making them title contenders in the upcoming season and claiming a spot in Europe.
Rafael Benitez-
The former Liverpool, Valencia and Inter Milan coach is another option Tottenham can look upto. The vastly experienced manager is a good bet in the high ranks and has records to boast off. He has won many titles for the clubs he has coached including the 2004-05 Champions league win with Liverpool. Benitez had claimed his interest in coaching Chelsea after the sacking of Villas Boas but as that move seems unlikely Tottenham can cash in on the Manager to revive its recent contention once again. Benitez is the right man for the job and it will be propelling for the club if they succeed in luring the manager and building a strong team.
Avram Grant-
The highly rated coach from Israel had earlier coached Chelsea and took them to the finals of Champions league and League cup is another man that can take up the job. Grant recently had shown interest in returning to top plight football after managing West Ham United. The former Chelsea manager can suit their demands as he has been in London and is rated a respectable figure that can give Tottenham a position they want to achieve.
Andres Villas Boas-
This move seems unlikely though but the London outfit can seek him as an option to get things at place. Villas Boas will be hungry to show his capability especially after being sacked by Chelsea in his first term. In Tottenham he has to build a team to compete and won’t face the same pressure as in Chelsea. The former Porto manager can be a possibility.
Tottenham though will be hoping for Redknapp staying back but at the same time should start negotiating with top available managers to be a deserving replacement for the future england boss.
