As soon as Huddlestone was sold to Hull, Spurs were quick to snap up the young French international from Toulouse, who looks tailor made for the Premier League. He is a strong, versatile defensive midfielder, who can also step forward and contribute to the attack.

In fact, what sets Capoue apart from other defensive midfielders, is the fact that he is versatile and also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder. Last season, although he played as the defensive midfielder in Toulouse’s 4-1-4-1 formation, he still managed seven goals and three assists, and even impressed his manager in his first outing.
