Toulouse face off with Angers in a Ligue 1 match at the Stadium de Toulouse this Sunday. Both of these sides are struggling for traction in Ligue 1.

Toulouse are in 16th place, while Angers are propping up the table in 18th and appear to be in danger of relegation already.

So which of these two struggling teams will come out on top this weekend?

Overall, Toulouse's record against Angers in recent years is a strong one. They beat them in both of their meetings in the 2022-23 season, and have only suffered one defeat to them in their last six, dating back to 2018.
Toulouse have won just one of their opening seven games this season and are currently on a real slide. They have fallen to defeat in their last three games, despite taking the lead in two of them.
Angers are unfortunately the only side in Ligue 1 to have no wins to their name thus far into the season. They have claimed three points from draws, but have lost their other four matches. However, their most recent game was a pretty decent 1-1 draw with Marseille.
Angers' problems largely seem to stem from their lack of potency in front of goal. Thus far, they have only scored five goals this season, the fewest of any Ligue 1 side. Interestingly, Toulouse are the league's second-lowest scorers with six.
Despite their struggles, both Toulouse and Angers have not been terrible in defense this season. Toulouse, have only conceded ten goals, the same number as Reims, who are currently flying high in 4th place.

Despite Toulouse's rotten form in recent games, they haven't performed too badly, taking the lead in two of them against a pair of tough sides in Lyon and Lille.

Angers, on the other hand, did well to take a draw from Marseille in their last game. However, they very much look like the weakest side in Ligue 1 this season and lack any kind of threat in front of goal.

It wouldn't be a shock to see this game end with honors even, but given their home advantage, we should expect Toulouse to pick up a narrow win.
