Messi’s Argentine compatriot, Sergio Aguero also said:” Yes, he should come to City. Then we’ll definitely play together! City should buy him! ”
Messi’s father, Jorge Messi however denied any transfer speculation about his son. He said: ” Leo has grown up at Barca and he loves this club. There is no problem at all between Leo and the club’s management. Over the last few month, the President Sandro Rosell has offered his full support and we appreciate these kind of gestures from Barcelona.”
”In times like this (his injury), we need them more than ever. This support shows the esteem in which they hold Lionel. Their aims are the same as ours: to win as many titles as possible for the institution that we represent.”
Another Argentine teammate of Lionel Messi, Pablo Zabaleta has also claimed that Messi keeps asking him about life at Manchester City.
Lionel Messi is expected to return to first team action in January. Manchester City also play Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 which will be in mid-February and March.
