Manchester United defender Phil Jones is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford in January after suffering another injury setback. Jones has been ruled out for close to 10 days after he suffered a knee ligament injury recently.
If Daily Star's report is to be believed, Jose Mourinho has already put Jones up for sale for the upcoming January transfer window. Jones is yet to play a single minute of football under Mourinho and given Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind are ahead of him in the pecking order, it is highly unlikely that we will see the 24-year-old in a United shirt ever again.
According to Daily Star, Arsenal and Liverpool have expressed interest in taking a gamble on Jones' fitness and are willing to offer as much as £10million for the United man.

The Red Devils were famously snubbed by Jose Fonte earlier in the summer where he was seen as the eventual replacement for Jones. As it turned out, Fonte ended up signing a new deal with Southampton forcing Mourinho to keep hold of both Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
Mourinho's teams in the past are built on strong defense, however, there seems to a growing concern at Manchester United about the right mix in the central defense. Eric Bailly has looked an assured figure but is yet to strike out a partnership with either Daley Blind or Chris Smalling.
Bailly and Blind suffered the defeat against Manchester City while Smalling has suffered back to back defeats against Feyenoord and Watford when brought into the starting XI.

Mourinho is desperate to cut short his squad with Jones on his way out of Old Trafford in January. Both Arsenal and Liverpool would want to add a dependable player in their squad who can be brought as potential back up to their first choice defenders.
Is Jones worth £10million?
Not long ago, Jones was dubbed as the future captain for both his club and country but his injury woes have cut short his career in England and perhaps it is in his best interest to move away from United and get another chance to revive his career.
Having said that, spending £10million on a player like Jones will be a gamble for any team but if kept fit, the 24-year-old could turn out to be an asset for Manchester United’s Premier League rivals.
