Real Madrid want Marquinhos
Los Blancos have faced defensive issues this season and have hence decided to sign a centre-back in January. Reports in Spain have linked the club with PSG's Marquinhos with Real Madrid rumoured to make a £71 million bid for the Brazilian defender. Club president Florentino Perez is said to be keen on landing Marquinhos after being disappointed by the performances of Sergio Ramos and the often injured Raphael Varane.
Lionel Messi demands a release clause in his new contract
In what is set to be a huge blow to FC Barcelona, Diario Gol reports that Lionel Messi has asked the club to include a release clause in his new deal. Messi's current deal expires in the summer and is ready to sign an extension but on the condition of having a realistic release clause. Such agreement will result in a number of clubs being enabled to sign the Argentinian superstar. Meanwhile, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has revealed that he dreams of a return to his boyhood club, Newell's Old Boys.
