Liverpool given the green light to sign Virgil Van Dijk
Jurgen Klopp has finally been given the nod to go ahead by Southampton to land long-term target, Virgil Van Dijk. The Dutch defender was Liverpool's prime target last summer but what happened thereafter is well documented.
The Daily Mirror has now reported that the Saints' hierarchy are now keen on offloading Van Dijk who has had an average start to the season. But Liverpool will need to shell out £70 million - a record sum for a centre-back if they are to sign Klopp's top defensive target.
Manchester United want Chelsea's David Luiz
Jose Mourinho is eyeing a reunion with his former Chelsea star, David Luiz next summer. United are expected to be in the market for a central defender after the end of the season with Mourinho eyeing a ball playing defender in the form of David Luiz.
Luiz has reportedly fallen out of favour with Antonio Conte who had kept him out of the squad for the game against the Red Devils. The Daily Star claims that Chelsea are open to selling the Brazilian but want to recoup £34 million that they paid for his services to PSG.
