Gomes has been a misfit at Camp Nou and will be looking to restart his career with a move to England.

Aitor Karanka rejects Alaves

Marca has reported that the former Middlesbrough boss, Aitor Karanka has rejected the chance to manage Alaves. The La Liga side sacked Luis Zubeldia last weekend after the club lost their fourth league match in a row which has seen them being rooted at the bottom of the table. Karanka has reportedly rejected Alaves' advances for personal reasons after the Spaniard's father passed away a few days ago.
