Die Ziet has reported that Ilkay Gundogan, the Manchester City midfielder believes that one of the reasons why Guardiola decided to call it a day with the Bavarians was the inability of the club to provide the manager with the players he wanted. Guardiola had prepared a shortlist of four players which included Thiago Alcantara, Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane to the Munich boardroom from which only Thiago was signed in 2014.

Liverpool tracking Dayot Upamecano

Bild claims that Liverpool are monitoring the progress of Red Bull Leipzig's 18-year-old summer signing, Dayot Upamecano. The defender is considered to be a talented prospect with the fullback already making 15 appearances for the club since signing in January. But Leipzig have taken a note of the interest in their summer signing and have reportedly inserted a £88 million release clause in Upamecano's contract.
