Sunderland admit the sale of Jordan Pickford kept the club running
After relegating to the Championship last season, Sunderland have had to do a serious cost-cutting. The Black Cats have revealed that every penny that they received from Jordan Pickford's £30 million transfer to Everton was used to keep the club running smoothly. Sunderland offloaded as many as 15 players this past summer and spent just £1.25 million on new faces. The club has admitted that the relegation had caused the club a lot financially and that the sale of Pickford was needed to avoid going into debt.
