Gianluigi Buffon open to coming out of retirement for Italy
After calling it a day from international duties, Gianluigi Buffon has said that he will come out of his hiatus if the Azzurri ever need him. Buffon was in tears after his last match for Italy as he and his teammates failed to guide the ever regular nation into the next year's World Cup.
Talking at the Italian player of the year awards, Buffon revealed, "I've always been a soldier on call for duty for the national team and Juve, so I could never desert them. I've always got to be ready. Even when I am 60, if disease struck all goalkeepers then I would be ready because that is how I view the notion of a national team."
Sassuolo sack Cristian Bucchi
The struggling Serie A club yesterday parted ways with their manager, Cristian Bucchi. He was taken on board just six months back but received the boot after winning just three out of 14 league games this season. Sassuolo are currently just a point above the relegation zone, reeling in 16th place.
